Vincent A. Morano, age 89, passed away at home on June 8, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Helene C. (nee Vasile) (2017) for 62 years. Loving father of Deborah M. Giannuzzi and her husband, Thomas, Frank A. Morano and his wife, Carol, Joseph J. Morano, and Michael F. Morano and his wife, Erin. Cherished grandfather of Anthony Lupo, Vincent Lupo, Joanna Beck, Andrew Lupo, Dario Morano, Ryan Giannuzzi, Victoria Morano, Sofia Morano, Patrick Morano and Matthew Morano. Devoted great-grandfather of Maria, Gianna, Ava, and Vincent. Predeceased by his three siblings.
Mr. Morano was born on December 5, 1927 in Newark, NJ. He was raised in Brooklyn and graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and then earned his Bachelor’s Degree from City College in NY, NY. He was in the Army and proudly served overseas during the Korean War. When he returned from serving his country he married his wife Helene in 1955. Together they raised 4 children. He was an electrical engineer by trade. Vincent worked for the Apollo Program of NASA, proudly designing the lunar excursion module with his colleagues. Later on he worked for the Office of Naval Research as a Contract Administrator. He retired in 1999 at the age of 72. He was extremely handy and could fix anything. Some of his passions included tending to his fig trees, enjoying good meals, working on his pool, and spending time with his entire family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
