Albert Brunone, age 89, passed away on May 10, 2017. He was a Loving Son to the late Candido and Matilde Brunone. He is survived by his first wife Rae Brunone and his son Robert and his wife Judy and their children Joseph and Anthony. He is also survived by his second wife’s children, her son Vincent and his wife Cathy and their children Vincent Jr. and Christina and her daughter Camille and her husband Michael and their children Nicole, Michael Jr. and Lenny. He will be missed by many other family members, nieces and nephews.
Al (A.K.A. Ziggy) was a proud patriot who served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947. After he was honorably discharged from the Army he became a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters locals 707 and 560. He later became a truck driver for the Pacific Intermountain Express (P.I.E.) where he worked for 35 years. In 1952, he married Rae Parise and moved to the Travis area in Staten Island where they raised their son Robert. After his divorce to Rae, Al married his second wife Frances Claps and relocated to West Palm Beach, Florida. Frances passed away in 2015. Al was a fun loving guy who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His hobbies included cooking along with boating and fishing on his boat The Zig Zag, off the shores of Staten Island, New Jersey and Florida. He was a member of the American Legion Gold Star Post in Travis while living on Staten Island. After moving to West Palm Beach, Florida he transferred to Post 0141. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of The Eagles, where he enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and fund raising for great causes and charities. He will be remembered for his jovial personality, great meals and wonderful memories he created for his family and friends. He will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
